This month, along with our feature articles on Development, we have an article telling us all about setting up a SPARC workstation to run Linux. While the workstations Mr. Little discusses are older ones that you can buy cheaply, it is also true that a Linux port has been made to the new high-end SPARCstations. On our cover is a picture of a hyperSPARC workstation (180MHz) from Ross Technology, Inc. This is the upper end of Ross' line, providing high performance and operating system stability. Ross also markets a hyperSPARC SPARCplug Solo that can be plugged into a PC. All of Ross' products maintain SPARC standard compliance and list for less than US$10,000. More information about the Ross hyperSPARC can be found at their web site, http://www.ros.com/ or by e-mail to info@ross.com.
